Last Minute Information about Hazelbaker Family Reunion

Hi everyone.
Well, it is only a couple weeks until we have our 75th Hazelbaker reunion. This year we have added a celebration to commemorate the 250th birthday of our first American forefather, Peter Hazelbaker. We have invited Hazelbaker’s from all over the country to join us at our reunion on Sunday, August 9th at Kickapoo State Park. We look forward to seeing all of you there as well. As always we will serve our potluck dinner at 1 pm. We will have signs in the park to direct you to our shelter.

We will also have a meeting similar to the one last year on Saturday August 8, 2009 at the Fithian Community center. in downtown Fithian , Il. We will meet at 6:30 pm. Sandwiches will be served. Cousin Mark Hazelbaker will have an updated power point presentation incorporating photos, facts, and bloodline of the Hazelbaker family. It was very interesting last year, and Mark has compiled a lot more information for this year’s gathering.
We also welcome a distant cousin Peter Hasselbacher from Louisville ky . Peter is a genealogist that has dedicated a lot of his time searching and gathering of information about our family. He has recently traveled to Europe to gather information. He will share information dating back to the early days in Austria with the original data that is available. He has also gleaned information from the Revolutionary war period and post war movements of our forefather, Peter with evidence connecting Peter to his marriage and his home. He has a wealth of information and I urge all of you to attend to learn more about our heritage.

Fithian, Il is located 15 miles from Danville on US 150 west. It is 16 miles east of Urbana traveling east on US 150. The community center is located 1 block north of US 150 on Main street. The center is on the northeast corner of the first block next to the Post Office.

We look forward to seeing you on both Saturday and Sunday. Please check the header of this e-mail and forward to anyone related to us or any other friends that would be interested in meeting with us. SPREAD The WORD however you can.. Thanks in advance. Let’s make this the greatest reunion weekend ever.
