This is the baptismal record of the twins Firmus and Andreas; children of Michael and Elisabeth Baÿrle, on 17 Nov (9bris) 1728.  Their death records are presented elsewhere.

One gift they and their siblings left for us today comes in the form of the identity of their godfather Andrea Brandmaÿr of Hauswis. There is a modern village of Haunsweis just between Edenried and Affing. It is natural that the parents would have chosen a Godparent from among their friends. Apollonia Brandmaÿr served as Godmother to the couples female children. With this in mind, I revisited the place notation in Apollonia's baptism record (below) and it is compatible with Hauswis. I hope we have discovered from where Michael Bayerl and perhaps Elizabeth came from to Edenried!  We will see other references to this place. [Addendum: I ultimately did find where both parents came from, but it was not Haunsweis!]

This is a detail from the baptismal record of Apollonia.  I believe is says "all from Edenried except for father [word-word) de Pla-ce.  I thought the Place started with 'Ha' but I would never have guessed the rest without the template above.

Below is the death record for Firmy Beÿrle from Edenried who died 4 Sep 1744.  The death record of his twin brother Andreas is the second item up. The boys were 15.  On the next page are the death records of their brother Jacob, 13, and their mother Elizabeth.

I have encountered other instances where there was page after page of deaths of children and adults in this region.  In a more modern time, the causes of death were listed as scarlatina or scarlet fever.  Pages like this remind me why public health and vaccinations are beneficial to society as a whole.  There should be few if any social  reasons as opposed to medical ones, why children should be allowed to opt out.
